We're off!
Hard to believe, but we are open and providing jobs to adults with developmental disabilities and cognitive impairment.  The board is a like-minded group of people that wants to provide meaningful jobs for adults with developmental disabilities and cognitive impairment. Thousands have connected with us through social media and by stopping by.  The board is not financially compensated, but rather our pay is the joy and satisfaction from assisting adults with disabilities get a job, and for many, the first job of their life!

The Idea...
In Michigan, after 26 years of age, adults with developmental disabilities and cognitive impairment can no longer attend public school. For these individuals and their families, what to do next is a real challenge. In 2015, a local group of retired teachers, parents, and volunteers got together to see if they could provide some type of meaningful employment for those adults. There is a real need to provide employment for special needs adults, not only in Huron Valley, but throughout Michigan and across the country.

The Mi Abilities Project was originally inspired by a board ember visiting Cape Cod Massachusetts. The Mi Abilities project developed over a dinner one evening at a local restaurant and the rest is history.
