Creating Opportunities

As Senior Vice President,Tom has over 25 years of strategic leadership in multiple disciplines such as Project Management, Program Management, Risk Management, Safety, Six Sigma and senior level Operations Management in both the Military and Private Sector. Tom has held senior roles in both publicly traded and private business. 

Tom retired from the Washington National Guard in 2012 after 20 years of combined service in both the US Army and National Guard. Tom Holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, a Bachelors of Science in Technical Management from DeVry University and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Human Resource Management from Cornell University.

Tom is passionate about servant leadership and serving his community, he thrives on bringing the veteran community to the forefront and conscience of an entire country. Tom is a Life Member of VFW Post 1008 in Waterford, MI.

Tom has four children, Dustin, Leah, Dylan and Olivia who keep him engaged and vibrant, his hobbies include Scuba Diving, Hiking, camping and time on the water. 

As President, Bear Hall oversees the strategic direction and growth of the company. Bear served in the United States Marine Corps and was medically discharged. He is passionate about connecting the military community with opportunities at Mi Abilities. He is an advocate for veterans and their families, believing that military alumni are better off for their service. Bear is a former member of the Rotary Foundation, Board member of the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce, Past Adjutant of the American Legion and AMVETs, Co-Chairmen of the board of THV, Inc. A non-profit that supports and raises funds for Team Huron Valley Special Olympics.


Bear has owned and operated several business over the years doing, cabling, fiber, telecommunications, VoIP and security systems as well as a Non-Profit raising fund for Team Huron Valley Special Olympics as well as Oakland County Special Olympics.


Bear is married to Cheryl and they have two special needs daughters, Elizabeth and Shelby. Bear is passionate about wood working and tinkering around the house.

Mi Abilities is a group of passionate people striving to make a better life and home for our special needs adults. Bear Hall Founder and close family friend Tom Castle are both Veterans of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army,they believe that their military background will allow them to help and assist adults with special needs find their place in life.


Mission Statement:

Mi Abilities is driven to empower the cognitively impaired community residing within Huron Valley School District boundaries to blend independent participant skills into a value added environment to better the community in which it resides.

We are determined to co-mingle our population within our community.

Mi Abilities vision is broken into two parts, physical needs and developmental needs. We consider physical needs to be a place or object that we intend to acquire to better enable our participants to live a fulfilled life. We consider our developmental needs to be a course of action to create momentum of further action by our participants that will impact our economy and community. Through careful planning, we will be steadfast as we tackle our strategic plan, therefore fulfilling our vision at Mi Abilities and forever changing the livelihood of our special needs participants.

We are focused on instilling independence and promoting self-sufficient lifestyles. We believe that our cognitively impaired participants have the right and deserve the opportunity to live and thrive within the safest, least restrictive environment all the while within the watchful eyes of supervision.
